A native of Connecticut, Dana made her way to the foothills of Boulder, Colorado and knew she had finally arrived home. The colors, majesty and peace of the mountains have served as an inspiration for so many endeavours. First as an English teacher, then as a chef, then needing to spread her creative wings a bit farther, dana birke designs was born. As an apprentice and studio assistant at Angie Star Jewelry in Boulder, Dana learned numerous facets of jewlery making and design including silk cord knotting, wire wrapping, hand-stamping and metal smithing.
Dana combines her love of words and desire for making luscious treats into charming pieces of jewelry. Each piece from her collections is handmade using recycled metals, semi-precious stones and a little bit of love.
